Wolcottville sewer rates lead to lawsuit

A lawsuit against the town of Wolcottville is currently being heard in Steuben County Circuit Court over the recent proposed increase in sewer user rates for locations outside of the town limits.
The town recently approved a rate increase that would have seen rates for lake area residents jump from $20 per month up to $46 per month, plus the debt service fee, bringing the monthly sewer bill for those not in town close to $100 per month.
Lake associations representing Witmer, Dallas, and Westler lakes brought the lawsuit against the town.
The case is being heard by Special Judge Allen Wheat in Steuben Circuit Court in Angola.
