At approximately 11:47 p.m. on August 23, deputies from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department investigated a suspicious vehicle on the corner of Michigan and Detroit streets.
Gloria J. “Jeanie” Miller, 59, LaGrange, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at her residence.
Janis Kay Penick, 74, Howe, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at her residence.
She was born April 5, 1941 to Maynard and Kathleen (Scott) Haskins.
Both the LaGrange and Wolcottville town councils will see a change in 2016 after incumbents were defeated in the towns’ special Republican conventions this week.
LaGrange and Wolcottville will both hold town conventions to select candidates for town council seats.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department was contacted on July 26 regarding criminal mischief at a campground.
W. Dale Sturtz, 77, Howe, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange.
Shortly after 5 a.m. on July 14, an officer from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department stopped a 2003 Mercedes in the 6000S block of SR 3.
Steve Fisher, age 59, of Wolcottville died on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
A head-on crash Sunday evening left both drivers injured and airlifted to Parkview Regional Hospital.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department reported that Jerry Higgins, 49, of Wolcottville was arrested May 14 on charges of Intimidation and transported to the LaGrange County Jail.
Deborah Lee Brockman, 57, Kendallville, Ind., died Sunday, May 10, 2015, at her residence.
James David Thomas, 84, Dallas Lake in Wolcottville, died Sunday, May 3, 2015.
He was born May 27, 1931 to Jack and Gertrude Thomas.
David Sheldon Cross, 83, Howe, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at his residence.
Patrick K. Moore, 52, Wolcottville, died Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Jeffery W. Johnson, 35, of Kendallville, died unexpectedly with his son by his side, on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his residence.
Shortly after 8 a.m. on March 18, deputies from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a personal injury accident in the area of CR 600S and 600E.
Shortly before 8 a.m. on March 17, Wolcottville Town Marshal Ryan Kauffman observed a red vehicle traveling south on Main Street through Wolcottville too fast for conditions.
