Lakeland won its first-ever softball decision over 4A powerhouse Mishawaka, 3-0 last Thursday night in the Princess City.
In three previous IHSAA state tourney games, opponents found Lakeland pitcher Ashlynn Grubb very tough to hit and impossible to score on.
