Public Hearing - Topeka annex

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ORDINANCE TO ANNEX CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS REAL ESTATE TO THE TOWN OF TOPEKA

        Be it known that at 5:00 o’clock p.m. on the 27th day of August, 2012 in the Topeka Town Hall located at 124 East Lake, Topeka, Indiana 46571, the Town Council of the Town of Topeka will hold a public hearing on the matter of whether to adopt Ordinance 2012-6-28 which proposes the Annexation of certain contiguous real estate (Annexation Area) to the Town of Topeka, Indiana and relevant related matters.  At the public hearing all interested parties will have the opportunity to speak regarding the proposed annexation.

        On July 23, 2012, the Town council of the Town of Topeka at its duly held public meeting received and accepted the “Petition for Annexation” into the Town of Topeka, Indiana.  The Petition was signed by 100% of the property owners who owned real estate in the Annexation Area.

        The Annexation Area to be annexed by the Town of Topeka is contiguous to the Town and is further described as follows:

Land Description:

Tract A:

Part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 36 North, Range 8 East, and being more particularly described as follows:

        Commencing at a railroad spike in the pavement marking the Southwest corner of said Section 25; thence East along the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25, a distance of 1165.3 feet; thence North parallel with the West line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25, a distance of 435.6 feet to the place of beginning of the description; thence East parallel with the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25, a distance of 1483.46 feet to a point on the East line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25, said point being 435.6 feet North of a railroad spike marking the Southeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25; thence Northwardly along the East line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25, a distance of 50 feet; thence West parallel with the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25 to a point that is 1165.3 feet East of the West line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25; thence South parallel with the West line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25, a distance of 50 feet to the place of beginning of this description. A part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 36 North, Range 8 East, in Eden Township, LaGrange County, State of Indiana, more particularly described as follows:

        Commencing at the Southwest corner of said Section 25; thence East along the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25, a distance of 1165.3 feet to the Southwest corner of land conveyed to Redman Homes, Inc. in Document Number. 87-11-311, said point being the place of beginning of this description; thence West along the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25 a distance of 269.11 feet to a point; thence North parallel with the West line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25, a distance of 485.6 feet to a point; thence East parallel with the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25 a distance of 269.11 feet to the  Northwest corner of land conveyed to Redman Homes, Inc. in Document Number. 89-6-159; thence South parallel with the West line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 25 and along the West line of said Redman Homes, Inc. lands a distance of 485.6 feet to the place of beginning of this description. Parcel 44-12-25-300-014.000-007.
