Notice of Hearing - Entech



                PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Elkhart County Council of the County of Elkhart, Indiana will conduct a public hearing at 8:00 A.M. or thereafter on April 8, 2017, during its regular meeting at the Elkhart County Administration Building, 117 N. Second Street, Room 104, Goshen, IN 46526.  The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment concerning the declaration of an Economic Revitalization Area pursuant to Indiana Code §6-1.1-12.1 et seq. and to determine whether to grant a waiver of any non-compliance.  On March 11, 2017 at its regular public meeting, the Elkhart County Council adopted “Declaratory Resolution Designating Economic Revitalization Area and Qualifying Certain Personal Property for Property Tax Phase-In” for Entech, Inc. (“Entech”).  The proposed Economic Revitalization Area is currently a developed parcel of land located at 10440 County Road 2, Middlebury, IN 46540.  The Declaratory Resolution made the findings required for the establishment of an Economic Revitalization Area pursuant to Indiana Code §6-1.1-12.1 et seq.  The Declaratory Resolution proposes a five-year property tax deduction and phase-in for certain personal property consisting of new manufacturing equipment in accordance with the schedules attached to the Declaratory Resolution.  The Declaratory Resolution, which contains a description of the proposed Economic Revitalization Area, is available for copying and inspection in the Elkhart County Assessor’s Office at the Elkhart County Administration Building, 117 N. Second St., Goshen, Indiana 46526.  The proposed project involves an investment of approximately Four Million One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($4,100,000.00) in new manufacturing equipment, resulting in the retention of twenty-three (23) full-time employment positions and the creation of nineteen (19) new full-time employment positions with an expected annual salary payroll increase of at least Six Hundred Thirty-two Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Dollars ($632,320.00) on or before December 31, 2017.  The Elkhart County Council will receive and hear all remonstrances and objections from interested persons at the public hearing.  After the public hearing and considering the evidence, the Elkhart County Council may take final action determining whether the qualifications for an Economic Revitalization Area have been met and confirming, modifying and confirming, or rescinding the Declaratory Resolution.  Any and all interested members of the public are invited to attend the public hearing.
