The Purdue Cooperative Extension Service, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Fish and Wildlife, is once again sponsoring a series of September venison workshops.
In Northeast Indiana, the workshop will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the LaGrange County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are located at 1030E 075N in LaGrange.
During each workshop, a deer will be skinned, butchered, and prepared in a variety of ways for participants to taste. Food safety and handling procedures as well as an update on deer health issues will be presented.
There is an admission fee for adults. However, children will be admitted free of charge.
