LaGrangeCountyresidents can once again help out the hungry as the Feed My Starving Children mobile pack event returns to the LaGrange County Fairgrounds Sept. 28 and 29.
Organized by Brighton Chapel, the event is looking for 1,000 volunteers to help during a two-hour shift packing food packets to help feed children around the world.
Last year, over 600 people from more than 19 churches packed 256,618 meal packs. For 2012, the goal is to pack 350,000.
The event has a financial goal of $77,000. Currently, they have raised $55,000. Donate electronically toward this specific event through FMSC.org or by mail to: FMSC, 401 93rd Ave. NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433 and include on the memo line “1209-55.”
The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and the meals are shipped to food distribution partners in nearly 70 countries around the world. It’s a powerful way to personally make a difference by reaching out and feeding starving people. For just 22¢ a pack, they can feed a child for a week.
