The LaGrange County Indiana Genealogical Society (LCIGS) will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the LaGrange County Library.
The program by Amanda Blackman and Roselyn Wells will be on "Identifying Old Photos." They will show how to use clues present in the photograph to determine a possible age range for photographs from 1840-1910. The clues are type of photograph, photographer’s marks, and the clothing, hairstyles and items in the photograph. If there is time, they will be willing to look at a few photos that attendees bring.
Wells is president of the DeKalb County Indiana Genealogy Society and has been a leader in DeKalb County history and genealogy since 1999. Blackman is an art teacher for Ft. Wayne Community Schools, secretary of the DeKalb County Genealogical Society, and is involved in local history projects in Kendallville.
Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome and encouraged to attend. For more information, contact LaGrange County genealogist Barb Mulholland at 260-854-4311 or bmulholland@ embarqmail.com, or LCIGS Board President Dalonda Young at 260-463-6384 or dalonda@kuntry net.com.
