If you have ever thought of starting your family tree you won't want to miss the October Meeting of the LaGrange County Genealogical Society which will be held on our regularly scheduled date of the second Tuesday of each month, Tuesday October 9. They will meet in the community room of the LaGrange County Library at 6:30 p.m. The program will be Margaret
Peg Adams from New Carlisle, Indiana who will inform you of "How to start your tree" entitled Genealogy 101. Peg has been doing genealogy since her mother died in 1986. Her mother had started their family tree and had shared her information with her daughter and Peg took it from there.
Peg has been teaching Genealogy for "Forever Living Institute in South Bend " for three years and has done a few genealogy presentations for the libraries in this area. She has printed two family histories and compiled a short booklet as an addendum to one of the books when she found more information about her great grandmother's family. These books are in the LaGrange County Library and include her LaGrange County families.
Peg has taught Genealogy 101 and is teaching an advanced genealogy program in South Bend. She will also answer any questions you may have on your advanced research.
You do not need to be a member of our society to attend the meetings, just an interest in genealogy.
