The 8th Annual Family Health Fair and Picnic will be held from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, on the south lawn at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. The hospital is located at 207 N. Townline Rd. in LaGrange.
There will be activities for everyone, including a Healthy Hands Art Project, finger casts, backpack sizing, and tours of an ambulance, fire truck, and fire house. A Samaritan helicopter tour will be held at 10 a.m.
A “Step It Up” walk will begin at 11 a.m. Join the hospital’s “70,000 Steps in 7 Days” challenge and receive a free pedometer.
There will also be several health screenings: bone density, blood pressure, and visual perception and balance. Attendees can also “Meet the Doctor” and “Ask the Pharmacist.”
A picnic lunch will be available. RSVP is requested.
Lab tests and services will be available for a fee from 8-10 a.m. These include fasting blood chemistry, CRP ultrasensitive blood test for heart disease, hemogram blood test for anemia/iron deficiency, PSA blood test for the prostate, TSH blood test for the thyroid, and hemoglobin A1C for diabetes. Payment can be made by cash or check.
