The LaGrange County Council on Aging is offering for the first time a Senior Expo on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Michiana Event Center (MEC). The MEC is located at 7605 North SR 9 in Howe.
This will be a free opportunity to gather information about local businesses, health care providers and senior service providers.
Free blood pressure readings, diabetic testing, bone density scans, vision and hearing screenings will be provided.
The American Red Cross will be having a blood drive from 8 a.m. until noon at the expo. Those wishing to donate are asked to call 1-800-RED CROSS to schedule a blood donation appointment using sponsor code “lagrangecoa,” or go to redcrossblood.org to sign up.
Corporate sponsors for the event are Angel Corps, Home Nursing Services, Life Care Center of LaGrange, Miller’s Merry Manor, Century Link, NIPSCO and Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
A free breakfast and lunch will be served. Ark Animal Rescue will be offering discounted animal chipping and a pet adoption.
There will be free testing available to those that qualify for specific lab work.
