The Prairie Heights FFA and Leo Club will host the annual Christmas Traditions Program on Thursday December 13 at 7 p.m. in the PH auditorium. The drive-through live Christmas story across the school farm opens at 7:30 and lasts until 9:00 p.m.
The indoor program features local talent of all ages performing Christmas favorites on instruments, vocal, and skits. Visitors may also have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the auditorium lobby. Cost is $5 for a 5x7 photo shipped to your home plus a digital copy emailed to you. Photo session times are 6:30 to 7 p.m. and 7:45 until 8:30 p.m.
The outdoor drive-through Christmas story starts at the baseball diamond (third parking lot entrance south of U.S. 20). The candlelight path will take you back in time to the night the star appeared over Bethlehem. Carloads crossing the P.H. school farm will meet Roman soldiers, kings from the east, shepherds, a crowded Bethlehem inn, and a stable. Visitors to Bethlehem may opt to make the journey by horse-drawn wagon. The wagon trip, provided by Kim Hoyer, takes about 30 minutes so please dress for the chilly weather. Wagon trips leave near the gas pumps at 7:30, 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. The drive-through is weather pending. Please listen to area radio stations if there is inclement weather.
All are invited to attend. There is no admission charge. Prairie Heights High School is located on U.S. 20 at LaGrange County road 1150 E.
