Cook’s Bison Ranch will hold its 12th Annual Calf Day Celebration on Saturday, June 16. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m.
This year, the event is packed with live entertainment, kid’s games and activities, history about the American bison, buffalo burgers, and fun for all. Free wagon rides to see and feed the buffalo will begin at 10 a.m. and continue all day long.
This year’s event also has several new features. There will be a question and answer time with Biggest Loser couple Roy and Christine Pickler of Middlebury. Buffalo Bill in Song is also new this year.
As always, concessions will be available throughout the day and Topeka Wildlife Farm will have its mini petting zoo at the event. There will also be bison products, caricatures, jewelry, and more for sale.
Local musicians and kid’s activities will be a major part of the day’s events. The Gospel and Folk Weather Girls, New Life Tabernacle, and Adrienne Frailey Family will perform. There will also be a moonwalk, kid’s crafts, face painting, pony rides, and archery fun. Bison hair spinning and a smoked jerky demo will also be presented.
Money for Missions Barn Sale will also be going on this year. Various items will be for sale to help raise money for missions to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. A scavenger hunt will also be included in the registration bag.
