The Shipshewana Town Council opened two bids for street improvements at their Thursday evening meeting.

Two people were taken to jail on separate charges after a domestic incident in Wolcottville.

    Shortly after 3 a.m. on August 10, an officer from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department stopped a passenger car on US 20 at CR 400W for a headlight violation.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department was contacted shortly after midnight on August 13 regarding a domestic disturbance at Pioneer Trailer Park on SR 9 between Howe and LaGrange.

A Bloomington man was found guilty this week of the murder of Hannah Wilson, an Indiana University student, in April of last year.

Timothy E. Mullins Jr., 37, of LaGrange was sentenced August 8 to 10 years in prison, with two years suspended, on one count of incest.

LaGrange County Habitat for Humanity (LCHFH) held its annual auction last Friday, raising over $55,000.

With the 2016-2017 school year starting next week, the Lakeland School Board approved several teacher and staff positions Monday evening.
