Central Noble defeated host Westview, 25-21, 25-18 in the championship match of a varsity volleyball tournament played Saturday in Emma.

Westview spotted county rival Lakeland an early, 1-0 lead then reeled off six unanswered goals to claim a 6-1 victory over the Lakers this past Saturday night in Emma.

Westview rallied to nip West Noble, 14-25, 23-25, 25-14, 25-19, 15-12 in a thrilling NECC volleyball match played last Thursday night in Emma.

Goshen aced Westview, 5-0 in varsity boys tennis last Thursday.

Westview cruised to a 5-0 varsity girls soccer win at Garrett last Thursday night.

Adel Obad and Logan Lawrence each tallied a couple of goals in leading Lakeland to an 8-0 drubbing of Central Noble in NECC boys soccer last Thursday.

Hamilton edged Lakeland, 25-15, 24-26, 28-26, 22-25, 15-13 in NECC volleyball last Thursday evening in LaGrange.

A Bronson, Mich., man was injured Monday afternoon when another vehicle backed out onto the roadway in front of his motorcycle.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of a 2012 John Deere Gator Sport that occurred over last weekend.

Coming in September is the annual Harvest Fest at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, located near Stroh. The Harvest Fest will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13.
