Public hearings on the 2013 budget for LaGrange County will be held Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 10 and 11. The sessions will start at 8:30 a.m. each day.

The 2012 LaGrange Road Race sponsored by Delta Theta Tau was held Sept. 1 at Lakeland High School.

Powered by a four-goal outburst by Dustin Cunningham, the Lakeland varsity boys soccer team cruised to a 7-1 victory over Eastside Tuesday night in LaGrange.

 

Woodlan got a first-half hat trick from I Sar and went on to best Prairie Heights, 4-2 in varsity soccer play Tuesday night at Kreager Park in New Haven.

 

The Westview varsity girls soccer team boosted its overall record to 6-1 and its NECC slate to 3-0 Tuesday night in Emma with a 7-1 lacing of Central Noble.

 

Bethany Christian forged a 5-0 varsity boys tennis victory over host Westview Tuesday afternoon.

 

Jason Nicodemus ran for 169 yards and two touchdowns as unbeaten Churubusco rolled to a 42-0 NECC football victory over Prairie Heights last Friday night in Turtle Town.

 

Lakeland battled host Jimtown for four games before dropping a 25-16, 25-14, 20-25, 25-15 varsity volleyball decision to the Lady Jimmies last Thursday.

 

Led by medalist Joseph Trost, the Lakeland boys cross country team placed second overall at the Caston Invitational meet held this past Saturday.

 

Westview won, lost and tied a match in the Carroll Classic boys soccer tournament held this past weekend.

 

Michelle Mowery’s goal with five seconds left in regulation time lifted Westview over host Elkhart Christian, 1-0 in NISC girls soccer action last Friday night.

 

The Westview boys tennis team earned its first two wins of the 2012 campaign late last week at the expense of NECC rivals Lakeland and Churubusco.
