YFC charity auction gets local boost

Youth for Christ (YFC) Ministries of DeKalb, Noble, Steuben and LaGrange counties has received many unique items for the Aug. 18 Charity Auction to be held at the Youth for Christ Center in Auburn, Ind.

Larry Hixson, a long-time supporter of YFC, is donating a new John Deere Pedal Car. Other items to be auctioned off include an antique buggy, Poulan mower donated by Ace Hardware of Topeka, a weed trimmer by Taylor Rental, a four-wheeler by Buschman Outdoors.

“It’s unbelievable how much the community has gotten behind this project!” stated YFC staff member Bob Krafft. “We have overnight stays, golf outings, gift certificates, furniture and household items, as well as crafts and collectibles. We are so grateful to all who are giving to help us support this student outreach and are continuing to look for good quality items for the auction. A complete list is available at www.yfcweb.com.”

The charity auction items will be available for preview from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17. This year’s preview will include a baked good sale and desserts.
