Patients, visitors and staff of Parkview LaGrange Hospital enjoyed a live Holiday Pops concert, complements of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic’s Woodwind Quintet on December 11. The program was one of a series of performances at Parkview hospitals in the region.
“These ensemble visits are a ‘thank-you’ for Parkview Health’s support of our regional Holiday Pops concerts,” said Joan Baumgartner Brown, development director for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.
The woodwind ensemble performed in Parkview LaGrange Hospital’s second story waiting area, making it possible for nearly 40 people to enjoy the program as the sound filled the two-story atrium. Whether upstairs or down, audience members thoroughly enjoyed the program, many asking if the ensemble could make a return visit.
Now performing its 70th season, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic’s mission is to inspire and foster a lifelong love of classical music through performance and education. The orchestra, led by Music Director Andrew Constantine, is a member of the League of American Orchestras and a funded member of Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne, the Indiana Arts Commission and National Endowment for the Arts.
