A Wolcottville man was arrested outside of the Shady Nook on CR 600S near Stroh Sunday morning and booked into the LaGrange County Jail on weapons charges.
According to reports, Eric Moore, 41, of Wolcottville was found lying outside the tavern around 1 a.m. when officers were called out of concern that Moore would return after he was asked to leave for being disorderly.
Officers found Moore lying in the weeds across from the Shady Nook. Moore was initially compliant with officers’ orders, but reportedly refused to comply with other commands, including keeping his hands out of his pockets. Officers were forced to take Moore to the ground, reports noted.
After transporting Moore, officers returned to the bar and found a sawed-off shotgun lying in the weeds where Moore had been found.
Moorewas arrested and taken to the jail on preliminary charges of Possession of a Sawed-off Shotgun, Possession of an Altered Gun, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Public Intoxication.
