Wilma S. Wingard, 89, Shipshewana, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at her residence.
She was born June 22, 1923, in Haven, Kan., to Samuel T. and Mary (Borntrager) Schrock.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She was married December 23, 1943, in LaGrange County, to Perry J. Wingard. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1972.
Surviving are six daughters, Mary Ellen (David P.) Yoder, Goshen, Esther L. (Earl R.) Miller, Middlebury, Alice (Daniel J.) Bontrager, Goshen, Linda (Freeman O.) Miller, Shipshewana, Velda F. (Harry Jr.) Stutzman, Shipshewana, and Ruth Ann (Melvin J.) Miller, Shipshewana; three sons, Melvin (Brenda) Wingard, Elkhart, Elmer L. (Leanna) Wingard, Goshen, and Perry Jr. (Fannie) Wingard, Goshen; 52 grandchildren; 155 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katie Eash and Emma Mullet both of Goshen, and Mae Miller, Middlebury; and one brother, Eli Schrock, Bradenton, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, four brothers, Sam, Felty, Ed and Levi Schrock, and three sisters, Clara Wingard, Anna Miller, and Sarah Neolle.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. Thursday, January 31, and all day Friday, February 1, at the Jerry Hochstetler residence, 9615W 375N in Shipshewana.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 2, at the Jerry Hochstetler residence, 9615W 375N in Shipshewana, with Bishop Sam Lambright and home ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Naylor Cemetery, Shipshewana.
