William A. Miller, 100, Topeka, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at his residence.
He was born December 13, 1912, in Reno County, Kan., to Andy and Gertie (Miller) Miller.
He was a farmer and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He was married November 24, 1932 to Mary Schrock. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1999.
Surviving are eight sons, Eli (Katie) Miller, Nappanee, Ind., Ora (Cathryn) Miller, Millersburg, Ind., Enos (Vera) Miller, Haven, Kan., William (Edna) Miller, Topeka, Harry (Katie) Miller, Millersburg, Ind., Calvin (Katie) Miller, Topeka, David (Esther) Miller, Topeka, and Eldon (Esther) Miller, Ligonier, Ind.; five daughters, Sara (Louie) Beachey, Topeka, Gertie (Fred) Yoder, Hutchinson, Kan., Wilma (Samuel) Bontrager, Wolcottville, Mary Detweiler, Shipshewana, and Martha (Ernie) Bontrager, Topeka; 80 grandchildren; seven stepgrand-children; 371 great-grandchildren; 34 stepgreat-grandchildren; 79 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Andy Miller Jr., Leon, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Lizzie Miller, Ligonier, Ind., and Edna Miller, Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Andy Miller, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild, one stepgreat-grandchild, a son-in-law, Dan Detweiler, two sisters, Polly Bontrager and Elizabeth Fry, and three brothers, Sam, Mose and Ervin Miller.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Thursday, August 15, and all day Friday, August 16, at the family residence, 5645W 800S in Topeka.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, at the family residence, 5645W 800S in Topeka, with Bishop David Miller and home ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka.
