Wilfred G. “Willie” Vaillancourt Jr., 78, LaGrange, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at his residence.
He was born April 4, 1934, in St. Anne, Ill., to Wilfred G. Sr. and Genevieve (St. Germaine) Vaillancourt.
Moving from Illinois to LaGrange County in 1964, he was a truck driver and member of the NRA, LaGrange Moose Lodge, and the former LaGrange Eagles. He raced cars in his younger years.
He was married February 15, 1964, in Shawneetown, Ill., to Betty Nettrouer. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Shelley and Bob Britton, Howe, Vicki and Chris Wicker, LaGrange, and Becky and Jason Cline, Sturgis, Mich.; eight sons and four daughters-in-law, Jim Vaillancourt, LaGrange, Jeff Vaillancourt, Las Vegas, Nev., Greg Vaillancourt, Howe, Willie and Dawn Vaillancourt, LaGrange, Chad and Kayla Vaillancourt, LaGrange, Lee and Elisha Vaillancourt, St. Augustine, Fla., David and Stephanie Vaillancourt, LaGrange, and Doug Vaillancourt, Marietta, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Delores and Neal Webber, Chebanse, Ill., and Noralee Sirois, St. Anne, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lolita Cole, a daughter-in-law, Barb Vaillancourt, and one niece, Tami Webber.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Wade Sturdivant officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to either Parkview Home Health and Hospice or Muscular Dystrophy.
