Westviw boys trash Central Noble

After an 11-day gap between games due to the unusually harsh winter weather Northern Indiana has been experiencing, the Westview varsity boys basketball team got back into the swing of things by hammering Central Noble, 70-31 Wednesday night in Emma.

The Warriors showed no signs of rust, outscoring the Cougars 19-6 in the opening period. The hosts then put together a 21-10 surge in the second to claim a comfortable, 40-16 halftime advantage.

Chandler Aspy led a quartet of Westview players in double figures with 21 points. Jordyn Bontrager was next with 14, Jamar Weaver finished with 13 and Judah Zickafoose tallied 11.

Bontrager also snared 10 rebounds, dealt six assists and made three steals for the Warriors, now 4-0 in NECC play and 7-3 overall. Zickafoose hauled down eight caroms and collected three steals.

Jeremy Coney sank seven points to pace Central Noble.
