Westview improved to 7-1 in the NECC baseball standings last Thursday night with a 12-3 thrashing of host Churubusco.
Kohle Christner’s two-run homer in the third helped stake the Warriors to a 3-2 lead. The visitors then broke the game open in the fifth with a seven-run binge. A three-run homer off the bat of Judah Zickafoose was the big hit of the frame.
Zickafoose went 4-4 at the plate with five RBI. Hunter Christner had three hits, while both Kohle Christner and Damon Miller lined two.
Brent Simons went 3-4 with a triple and a double for Churubusco.
Miller started on the mound for Westview and worked the initial five frames to earn the win. Zickafoose pitched the final two frames, striking out five of the six Eagles he faced.
