Westview went 1-1 in the Bremen Invitational softball tournament played this past Saturday.
In the semifinal round, the Lady Warriors squandered an early, seven-run lead against Bremen and fell to the hosts, 14-12. A nine-run sixth inning, capped off by Megan Stouder’s home run, fueled the Lady Lion comeback.
Brooke Yoder tripled, singled twice and plated four runs to lead Westview at the plate. Steph Mowery lined three hits and had two RBI, Rachel Johns produced a triple, a single and two RBI, Hannah Witham collected two hits and an RBI, and Kayla Yoder drilled two hits.
Westview spanked Culver Academy, 24-8 in the consolation game. Johns knocked in five runs with a pair of doubles. Sidney Byrkett had two hits and four RBI, Kayla Yoder two doubles and three RBI, Brooke Yoder two hits and three RBI, Amber Roth four hits, Mowery three hits and four runs, Witham two hits and two RBI, and Olivia Miller two hits and three runs.
