Westview softballers sweep John Glenn

The Westview varsity softball team ran its season record to 3-1 with a doubleheader sweep of host John Glenn this past Saturday.

Hannah Witham banged out two doubles and a single, and Amber Roth socked a double and two singles in leading the Lady Warriors to a 9-0 victory in the opener. Roth also scored three times.

Karis Brewer poked a pair of singles and scored twice. Kathy Yoder doubled and both Rachel Johns and Madison Myers laced singles.

Lady Warrior pitcher Annie Sharick scattered six hits and struckout six en route to the shutout win.

In the second game, Westview racked up seven runs in the fifth inning and rolled to a 16-7 triumph.

Witham, Sharick, Johns, Brooke Wigner, Brooke Yoder, and Lexie Singleton each slapped RBI hits in the Lady Warrior fifth. Yoder and Roth scored three runs apiece.

Witham, Johns and Myers all garnered two safeties in the nightcap. Brewer, who reached base in five of her six plate appearances, cracked a double.

Sharick relieved starting pitcher Johns in the second inning and went the rest of the way to notch her second win of the day. Sharick held Glenn to one run and three hits over the final 5.1 innings.
