A quick start helped Westview best Elkhart Christian, 10-2 in varsity softball Monday night in Elkhart.
The Lady Warriors tallied five runs in the first inning and two more in the second to forge a 7-0 cushion. They tacked on single markers in the fifth, sixth and seventh frames to secure their 11th triumph of the campaign.
Amber Roth led the winners at the plate with a double and two singles, two RBI and three stolen bases. Steph Mowery was 2-4 with two RBI, Rachel Johns ripped an RBI single and scored three runs, and Brooke Wigner lined a run-scoring safety.
Sam Pfenning earned her eighth pitching win of the season, giving up one hit and striking out three in three innings. Johns tossed the final four frames for the Lady Warriors.
