Westview girls shade Jimtown

The Westview varsity girls basketball team traveled to Jimtown Tuesday night and barely escaped town with a 40-39 victory over the scrappy Lady Jimmies.

Coach Randy Yoder’s Lady Warriors led at the three period stops by counts of 11-4, 19-13 and 33-27.

Grace Hales collected 11 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the victors. Maria McCoy chalked up 10 points and 10 boards, while Olivia Miller distributed five assists.

Ali Brothers paced Jimtown with 15 points.

The one-point win improved Westview to 12-7 heading into its regular-season finale this Friday at West Noble. A victory over the Lady Chargers would seal no worse than a second-place finish in the NECC standings.
