Westview boys trump Wawasee

 

Kyle Miller and Brant Yoder combined for 52 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in sparking Westview to an 81-74 triumph over visiting Wawasee in varsity boys basketball action Tuesday.

Miller poured in 31 markers on 10 field goals, including three from beyond the three-point line, and an 8-8 effort from the foul stripe. His nine tallies in the fourth period helped stave off a late Wawasee rally.

Yoder threw in 21 points, 15 of which came during the middle two quarters to help the host Warriors build up a 58-49 advantage.

Adrian Brandenberger and Jordyn Bontrager were the next two Westview players in the scoring column with 10 and eight points, respectively. Bontrager, who led the winners in assists with five, also tied Miller and Yoder on the rebound chart with five caroms.

Jake Clark and Alex Clark topped Wawasee with 16 points apiece. Trent Koble added 13 tallies and Bower Schmeltz 10 to the Warrior ledger.

Westview improved to 17-2 with the win.
