Westview boys stay unbeaten in NECC

Westview completed a perfect, 10-0 run through its NECC boys basketball slate Tuesday night in Emma with a 64-46 victory over Fremont.

It is the fifth conference title won by the Warriors since 2006-07 and the third with a 10-0 mark. Under head coach Rob Yoder’s tutelage, Westview has won both the NECC regular-season and tournament championships in four of the past six campaigns (2007-08, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2012-13).

Sparking the Warriors to their 18-point dismantling of Fremont Tuesday was sophomore Chandler Aspy, who canned a career-high 25 points and grabbed four rebounds. The 6-3 forward, who finished 10-13 from the field, netted seven markers during a 16-2 Westview run in the second period which boosted the hosts to a 31-15 halftime lead.

Seniors Nic Raber and Kyle Miller each sank 14 points to back up Aspy on the Warrior scoresheet. Raber went 7-7 from the floor and snagged five boards, while Miller connected on a trio of three-point tries.

Fremont standout Tyler Jenkins poured in 26 points to lead all scorers in the contest.

Westview, now 18-2, wraps up regular-season play Friday night with a date at No. 11 Concord (18-1).
