Westview boys split a pair

Chandler Aspy’s 15-point explosion in the fourth quarter helped the Westview Warriors secure a 57-39 victory over Plymouth in their opening game of the Westview Shootout last Tuesday.

Aspy canned six field goals and went 3-6 from the foul stripe in the final frame, capping off a 29-point, six-rebound, five assist effort by the 6-3 senior forward. Andrew Yoder, whose four, three-point buckets in the first three periods helped stake the Warriors to a 35-24 advantage, finished with 14 markers.

Cam Eveland led Plymouth with 16 points.

In their second game of the day, the Warriors came up on the short end of a 60-43 result against DeKalb. Trailing 13-7 after one period, the Barons doubled up the hosts, 34-17 over the middle two stanzas to take a 41-30 lead into the fourth quarter.

Will Chrisman led a quartet of DeKalb players in double figures with 16 points. Hunter Cone had 15, Dahlton Daub 14 and Cole Hartman 11.

Aspy netted 22 points to pace the Warriors, now 4-5 on the season. Litwiller swished four, three-pointers for 12 tallies.
