Westview boys rip Eastside

Westview ran its NECC boys basketball record to 7-0 last Friday night in Emma with a 60-41 lacing of Eastside.

The easy victory set up a first-place showdown for the 14-1 Warriors against West Noble this Friday in Ligonier. The Chargers also improved to 7-0 in league play last Friday with a 68-57 win over Fairfield.

A pair of triples by Jordyn Bontrager and a trio of hoops by Kyle Miller in the opening period helped stake the Warriors to a 20-10 lead over the Blazers. Miller then tallied the final nine of his game-high 17 points in the third quarter, as the hosts took a 47-27 edge.

Nic Raber followed Miller on the Westview scoresheet with 13 markers. Both Bontrager and Chandler Aspy wound up with 10.

Jayden Lilly’s 13 points topped Eastside.
