Westview boys oust Angola

 

 

The Westview Warriors ran their NECC boys basketball record to 3-0 last Friday night in Emma with a 63-28 lacing of Angola.

Five points by Kyle Miller and four by Brett Yoder helped spark a 15-4 opening salvo by coach Rob Yoder’s club. Westview used a 17-11 burst in the second quarter to stretch its lead to 17 (32-15) at the halftime break.

Miller and Chandler Aspy each finished with 13 points to top the Warrior scoring column. Jordyn Bontrager pitched in nine markers to go with his team-highs in rebounds (six), assists (five) and steals (three).

Simon Brown’s mine points led Angola.

Both Westview and Fairfield emerged from the weekend with 3-0 league slates, while just behind at 2-0 are Eastside, Fremont and West Noble. Overall, the Warriors stand 5-1.
