Westview boys nip Concord

 Jamar Weaver tallied six of his season-high 26 points in overtime to lead Westview over Concord, 76-71 in the varsity boys basketball season closer for both clubs last Friday night in Emma.

The senior canned a pair of buckets early in the extra session that put the Warriors up four. After Concord cut the margin to one (72-71) with a minute left, Westview tallied the final four markers to secure its 17th win of the campaign and its first over Concord in six tries.

Weaver was a sizzling, 10-12 from the field, including 4-5 from beyond the three-point stripe. He also led the Warriors in rebounds with five.

Jordyn Bontrager led Westview in scoring with 30 points. Chandler Aspy put in 15. Both Bontrager and Aspy dished out four assists.

Filip Serwatka’s 20 points topped Concord. Ramon Johnson and Adam Glanders followed with 16 and 15 tallies, respectively.

Westview meets Central Noble in the first round of the 2A sectional Tuesday night in Emma.
