Westview blanked Fremont, 7-0 and trimmed West Noble, 7-4 in NECC softball action earlier this week.
Sam Pfenning scattered five hits and struckout four en route to her complete-game shutout win over Fremont Monday night in Emma. Fanning aided her cause at the plate with two hits.
An RBI double by Amber Roth and a run-scoring single off the bat of Hannah Witham in the first inning staked Westview to a 2-0 lead. The Lady Warriors broke the game open with a five-run third frame. Singles by Roth, Witham, Brooke Yoder and Pfenning fueled the outburst.
Roth finished the game with three hits, while Yoder joined Witham and Pfenning with two.
Courtney Hayes doubled for Fremont.
A pair of three-run innings sparked the Lady Warrior effort at West Noble Tuesday night. Rachel Johns delivered a two-run single in the second frame and a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the third. Sidney Byrkett, Karis Brewer and Annie Sharick also contributed RBI singles.
Byrkett led Westview’s 12-hit attack with three safeties. Yoder and Pfenning both wound up with two.
Sharick pitched the first five innings to get the win, allowing six hits, walking four and striking out six along the way. Pfenning finished up in the pitcher’s circle, giving up three hits and whiffing one in two frames.
Alexis Morris blasted a two-run double and Araceli Flores poked an RBI single for West Noble.
Westview improved to 6-3 overall and to 2-1 in the NECC with the sweep.
