Two-run homers by Kohle Christner and Tarrin Beachy highlighted an 11-1 Westview varsity baseball victory over county rival Lakeland last Thursday.
Beachy’s round-tripper in the third inning boosted the Warrior lead to 4-0. His RBI single in the first helped stake the visitors to a 2-0 edge.
Christner blasted his homer in the fifth, part of an eight-run Warrior explosion that put the game out of reach. Jake Berkey, Judah Zickafoose and Jamar Weaver also contributed RBI singles to the rally.
Beachy finished with three hits and both Weaver and Berkey had two. Weaver joined Beachy with three RBI.
Lakeland got its lone run off winning hurler Houston Haney in the second inning. Jackson Evans lined a double to center field to score Kyle Casper, who had singled in front of him.
Haney allowed just two hits and struckout five in four innings of work. Beachy pitched the final frame, fanning two.
Alex Pearson took the pitching loss for Lakeland.
