Westview tallied two runs in three different frames en route to a 6-3 varsity baseball victory over visiting Goshen Saturday morning.
Jamar Weaver’s double and an RBI single by Tarrin Beachy in the third put the Warriors ahead, 2-1. The same twosome stroked RBI singles in the fifth to extend the Westview lead to 4-1.
Goshen cut the margin to 4-3 with two runs in the top of the sixth. But in the bottom of the same inning, Jake Berkey knocked in two insurance markers with a two-out single to left.
Weaver finished 3-3 at the plate. Berkey and Beachy both had two hits.
Derrike Johns worked the initial five innings on the mound for the Warriors to log the win. Houston Haney pitched the final two frames to earn a save.
Westview improved to 11-5 with the win.
