The Westview School Board approved purchasing a total of 112 computers for three of the district’s buildings.
At their May 10 meeting, the board approved 31 computers at Topeka Elementary, 32 at Shipshewana-Scott Elementary, and 49 at the high school. Maple Tronics was the low bidder at $16,071.95 at Topeka Elementary, and the low bidder for Shipshewana-Scott at $16,590.40. Maple Tronics was only $24.99 above the low bid for the high school computers, at $25,404.05. The board stayed with Maple Tronics for the high school computers, noting the benefits of staying with a single vendor as well as using a local vendor.
The board approved upgrading and repairs to the high school sewer plant. The low bid was from Mason Engineering and Construction for $102,500.
The board was reminded that the high school baccalaureate will be at 6 p.m. on May 23. Graduation is set for 7 p.m. on May 25.
