West Noble girls drub Lakeland

 

West Noble got out of the gate fast and never let up against NECC girls basketball foe Lakeland last Friday night in Ligonier, beating the Lady Lakers by a count of 64-36.

Led by the inside-outside duo of Haley Richardson and Ashley Shepherd, the Lady Chargers bolted to a 24-8 advantage by the end of the opening quarter and took a 37-16 edge into the halftime break. Both the 6-2 Richardson and 5-8 Shepherd finished with 17 points.

Kelsie Peterson pitched in 12 markers, 10 steals and seven assists to the Lady Charger attack. Paige Shearer led the winners on the boards with seven rebounds.

Nicole McKibben came off the bench to score a team-high 10 points for the Lady Lakers. Abi Thompson pulled down 12 rebounds and Ashtin Kaminer garnered six steals.

West Noble improved to 10-4 overall and to 7-1 in the NECC with the decision. Lakeland fell to marks of 2-11 and 2-6.
