West Noble boys nip Westview in tennis action

West Noble and Bethany Christian each dealt the Westview boys tennis team a defeat earlier this week.

The Chargers got a three-set win at No. 2 singles by Kolten Peterson to seal a 3-2 triumph over the Warriors Monday night in Ligonier. Scoring the Westview points with straight-set victories were No. 1 singles player Stephen Gierek and the No. 1 doubles duo of Andrew Yoder and Zach Schrock.

Bethany paid a visit to Emma Tuesday afternoon and took home a 4-1 win. Gierek was the lone Warrior victor, as he aced Jesse Amstutz, 6-4, 6-3.

The two results dropped Westview to 3-7 overall and to 1-2 in NECC play.

The Westview JV squad also fell to West Noble (3-2) and Bethany (6-1). Warrior reserve winners against West Noble were Rafael Flores in singles and the doubles team of Benson Stoltzfus-Ryan Barker. Braydon Avery and Ethan Roth linked up to win a doubles match against Bethany.
