Wendell W. White, 71, Wolcottville, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at his residence.
He was born November 5, 1940, in Mt. Summit, Ind., to Isaac and Mary J. (Reeves) White.
Moving to the Wolcottville area in 1986, he was a toolmaker for various tool and die shops. He made homemade cannons and played the guitar and banjo. One of the bands he played in was called the Country Samplers and he also played in the Maple Wood Jam sessions. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of LaGrange American Legion Post 251 and LaGrange Moose Lodge 1351.
He was married Nov. 5, 1988, in Luray, Ind., to Kaye Payne. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Jim Hall, Mindy and Micky Swain, Cindy and Ronnie Smith, and Natalie and Todd Stebelton; one son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Mycki McCallister; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary Brown; three brothers, Noah, Isaac and Raymond White; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Tony Galbraith.
Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Friday, April 20, at The Regency in Muncie, Ind.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, at The Regency in Muncie, Ind., with Reverend Chris Bunch officiating.
