Wallace W. Bowen, 90, LaGrange, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange.
He was born February 7, 1922, in LaGrange, to Frank and Nellie (Wyland) Bowen.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a clerical assistant to General Dwight D. Eisenhower during WWII. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Agriculture. He was employed as a foreman at Sealed Power in LaGrange until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Coin Club in LaGrange, VFW, and a lifetime member of LaGrange American Legion Post 215.
He was married April 10, 1959, in Sturgis, Mich., to Oma L. Miller. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Randy Price, Morris, Ill.; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Dewayne and Susan Yoder, Sunnyville, Calif.; two grandsons, Randy Walsh and Christopher Price, both of Morris, Ill.; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eloline Bowen.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 27, at Carney Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, at Carney Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Burial with military rites by LaGrange American Legion Post 215 will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
