Virginia (Rose) Ames, Age 85, of LaGrange, (formally of North Liberty, IN), died Wednesday August 29, 2012 at Life Care Center of LaGrange, IN.
She was born on July 28, 1927 in Myrtle, Mississippi to James Malcolm and Jeanette (Killough) Hudnall.
She was married to Walter L. Rose, Sr. for 38 years. He preceded her in death. She then married Raymond Ames and was married for 10 years. He also precedes her in death.
Virginia was a member of the LaGrange Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by seven children – Donald Russell of Michigan City, IN, Bob Russell of Plainfield, IL, Katherine (Russell) Wirth of LaGrange, IN, Dave Russell of Kalamazoo, MI, Mike Rose of Medford, Oregon, Colleen (Rose) Watson of Anchorage, Alaska and Pat Rose of South Bend, IN. One sister - Cassie Ann (Hudnall) Gillentine of Tupelo, Mississippi. 16 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son, Walter “Butch” Rose, JR and one sister, Marie (Hudnall) Burleson. Visitation will be held on Friday September 7, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.
Virginia will be laid to rest next to Walter Rose in Park Hill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the LaGrange Food and Clothing Basket or given to the family for the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Virginia Ames.
