Virginia Mae “Nicky” Metzler, 85, Goshen, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born September 24, 1926, in Dunlap, Ind., to John and Dorothy (Brumbaugh) Warner.
Living all her life in the area, she was a 1944 graduate of Goshen High School and retired from General Telephone, where she worked as a switchboard operator for both the Goshen and Elkhart offices. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and volunteered with Lifeline Youth for Christ. She supported both local and foreign missions.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy (David) Huser, Goshen, and Sharon (Jim) Piechorowski, Elkhart; two granddaughters, Jennifer Havlish and Devon Brugh, both of Elkhart; one grandson, Frank Piechorowski, Memphis, Tenn.; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Carol; one sister, Martha (Allan) Deal, Harlingen, Texas; and one brother, Richard (Jan) Warner, Cedar City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Graczyk and Marjorie Markley.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, at Faith United Methodist Church in Goshen.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, at Faith United Methodist Church in Goshen with Pastor Larry Kurtz officiating.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be directed to Faith United Methodist Church or Lifeline Youth for Christ.
