Virgil M. Sautter, 92, Warsaw, Ind., formerly of LaGrange County, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.
He was born October 5, 1919, in LaGrange County, to Melvin Henry and Erma (Pocock) Sautter.
Living most of his life in LaGrange County, he was a retired farmer and had worked as a plasterer and carpenter.
Surviving are one son and two daughters-in-law, Ted and Katie Sautter, Bristol, Ind., and Carolyn Sautter-Young, Warsaw; three grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Holly Sautter, Leesburg, Ind., Cathy and Randy Gilomen, Highland, Ill., and Mindy and Galen Albrechdt, Bay City, Mich.; six great-grandchildren, Michael, Shawna, and Garrett Sautter, all of Leesburg, Ind., Jessica Albrechdt, Bay City, Mich., and Trisha and Dustin Gilomen, both of Highland, Ill.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Charles J. and Kathryn Sautter, Howe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin H. and Erma Sautter, his stepmother, Gertrude Sautter, one son, Richard Allen Sautter, and one sister, Lucille E. Oliver.
Services were held Saturday, December 31, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend James Bartlett officiating.
Burial is in English Prairie Cemetery, rural Howe.
