Virgil J. Jordan, 95, Wolcottville, died Monday, January 13, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange.
He was born November 10, 1918, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Lewis F. and Elsie M. (Smith) Jordan.
Living in Wolcottville for more than 50 years, he retired from Starcraft in Topeka and had formerly worked at Formed Tubes in Sturgis, Mich.
He was married July 13, 1940, in Sturgis, Mich., to Mary A. Wilcox. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Max) Cleveland, LaGrange, and Donna (Laban) Beers, Wolcottville; three sons, Donald J. (Rosalie) Jordan, LaGrange, Terry Jordan, Wolcottville, and Rick (Lisa) Jordan, Orland; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Jordan, one granddaughter, Amber Green, two sisters, Evelyn Bowser and Betty Lung, and four brothers, Carl Jordan, Earl Jordan, Cecil Jordan, and Richard Jordan.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, January 16, at St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City with Father Jim Miller officiating.
Burial is in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.
