Vera E. Speicher, 101, LaGrange, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Life Care Center of LaGrange.
She was born December 4, 1910, in Rome City, to Riley and Ella (Bates) Donat.
She was married July 13, 1929, in Wolcottville, to Titus Speicher Sr. He preceded her in death in June 1971.
She had previously worked as a CNA at the LaGrange Hospital and was a homemaker. She was the pianist for the Valentine Methodist Church for many years. She previously attended the First Church of God in LaGrange. She was honored with a Century Mark Award in LaGrange for her 100th birthday and received a presidential Certificate from Washington, D.C.
Surviving are three sons, Titus Jr. and Martha Speicher, Howard and Diane Speicher, and Roger and Mary Speicher, all of LaGrange; three daughters, Yvonne Parks, Sturgis, Mich., Karol and David Endres, Lacresenta, Calif., and June and Merle Manor, LaGrange; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Vanita Parker, Goshen, and Viola Losh, Jeffersonville, Ind.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mildred Speicher, and 4 sisters.
Services were held Monday, April 23, at Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange with Pastor William J. Delaughter officiating.
Burial is in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange was in charge of arrangements.
