The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department was contacted on February 2 by three residents of Howe regarding vandalism and theft.
According to a police report, a Lakeland School Corporation bus parked in the 600 block of Fourth Street in Howe had its radio microphone cut and thrown in the yard of the residence. The unknown person or persons also went through a car parked at the residence, taking approximately $3 in change.
Another incident involving a Lakeland bus in Howe was also reported on February 2. The bus was parked at a residence in the 300 block of Williams Street in Howe and had its block heater cord cut, the driver’s seat slashed, and someone attempted to slash the right front tire. Footprints at the scene matched prints from the earlier vandalism incident involving a bus. The suspects were identified as juvenile males. This case will be forwarded to the LaGrange County Circuit Court Probation for review.
A resident of the 400 block of Fifth Street in Howe called the sheriff’s department regarding attempted entry into his vehicle. According to the police report, footprints in the snow lead to another location in Howe. Witnesses in the area identified two juvenile males as being in the area, checking under a boat cover. The juveniles were located at a residence in Howe and shoes matching footprints at the scene were located.
This case will be forwarded to the LaGrange County Circuit Court Probation for review.
