The LaGrange County Regional Utility District is set for 2014 after passing a budget for the upcoming year at last Thursday’s meeting.
The budget is based on looking at the first nine months of 2013 and extending those figures through a full year. A few capital projects are also included in the budget, including painting a clarifier in Region B at $54,000, which accounts for a third of the capital expenditures for the year.
The board was told that cash flow and expenditures is “almost perfectly balanced” for the year.
In other business, the board approved moving ahead with refinancing bonds. The bonds totaling $10,290,000 would be refinanced at a savings of $813,706 over the course of the bonds. The bonds would be paid off in 2037. Annually, the district will see savings ranging from around $37,000 to $42,000.
The board set the 2014 meeting dates as the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.
