Due to changes in the state law, the LaGrange County Regional Utility District looked at how its rates might be affected.
Under the changes made, youth camps can elect to be billed by either metered rates or at a ⅛ per bed flat rate.
The district board heard a report from its financial consulting firm, Umbaugh and Associates, on the impact that may have on rates.
Although both Region A and Region B will see a possible reduction in overall revenue due to the billing changes, the regions will still have enough available for capital improvements and other work, if needed.
Umbaugh and Associates recommended no increase in either region’s rates at this time.
The board did approve a recommendation to cease accepting outside septic waste to treat, effective Dec. 31, 2012. Currently, the district accepts additional sewage to treat at a cost.
